Peter is a known cut-flower grower for more than 30 years, and he specializes in waxflowers and also Tweedia (Oxypetalum)

Wax flower season has started!

We are happy to advise that very soon Israeli waxflower export season will officially start.

We have visited our growers in the last couple of days and we are happy to say that their fields look beautiful and well treated!

In the last 2 weeks we started exporting the very first early Jupiter, fully open showing good selection and volume, as well as some very light pink early nir.

This week Prince will join the varieties available and is a beautiful cerise colour.

We expect White Maya to be ready within 1-2 weeks.

Waxflower is cut normally from 50cm to 80cm and is a good performing volume filler providing long shelf life.

Anemone season 2020-2021

Planting of Anemone for season 2020-2021 has finished this week and we are expecting the first flowers to be picked around mid-end November.

This year, in total, there will be less volume grown than last year in Israel, with an expected shortfall of 15-20%. We can assure you that your orders will not be affected by this for this reason we are welcoming more Anemone growers to our club.

It is important to know that Blooms provides direct deals and auction services to 80% of the anemone growers in Israel.

We visit their farms daily and invest time to bring better and better quality each year.

We trial different techniques from artificial lighting, tunnels and green houses to supply longer and stronger lengths to our customers. We are in constant contact with Yodfat Nursery in Israel, who supply the majority of bulbs, and together with their guidance we will trial this year a number of new varieties which we hope will bring added value to this product.

Import of Calla bulbs to Israeli growers from Kapiteyn Captain Calla BV

This week we finally released our container of Calla bulbs just in time for the plantation of Calla for season 2020-2021.

This year we expect production from two main farms.

Israel Dan, located in the North of Israel, and Weinberger Flower Farm, located in South Israel.

Both growers have been growing this product for many years and have gained a well-known name for their brilliant quality.

Both farms will grow more than 15 commercial varieties and supply a very large assortment of Calla.

First cut is due to take place in December and we cannot wait to see their beautiful flowers!

Warm welcome Ofer Rashal

Grower Ofer Rashal joins the pool of Israeli cut flower growers. Blooms is glad to introduce Ofer Rashal, growing this year Safari Spray, Safari Sunset Standard and Spray along with Goldstrike

Alongside Safari, Ofer also grows apple, nectarine, peach and cherry.

Ofer’s farm is located in the Golan Heights, growing at an altitude of +400m above sea level, the cold night temperatures provide the perfect conditions for growing Safari.

Although this is Ofer’s first year in growing this product, you can see from the photos his quality is very good, providing long stems, hardy red heads and clean foliage.

Safari is very a popular foliage for Xmas, with a strong red colour and uniform quality.

We would like to wish Ofer every success this season and a warm welcome to the flower world.
